FDA Tells Google-Backed 23andMe to Halt DNA Test Service – Bloomberg:
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-11-25/fda-tells-google-backed-23andme-to-halt-dna-test-service.html#!

UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH), the largest publicly traded U.S. health insurer, raised concern in a March 2012 report about the accuracy and affordability of the tests. Such types of genetic tests may become a $25 billion annual market in the U.S. within a decade, highlighting the need to identify which work best, the insurer said at the time.

Mu bonito, my Hispanic family half would say, UnitedHealth is all so worried about the little guys. That’s why they when you make a claim, they ask you to look again if the payout should be bigger than what you asked for, right….

Immigration, culture and freedom

November 11, 2012

There is a wrong take on the effect of immigration on the culture. The massive European immigration in the 19th and early 20th centuries resulted in some growth in Roman Catholic population –should have been strongly conservative like with Latin Americans later– but also massive numbers became evangelicals because born-again Christians boldly witnessed to their neighbors.

Even today, numbers of Protestants, especially Pentecostals, are multiplying growth rates in Latin American countries in a sort of “reverse cultural effect”.

So much so, along with the effect of true Mark 16:15 missionaries, that –for an example– we recently have a documented, video-recorded testimony with corroboration of dozens of witnesses that the earnest prayer of the faithful and a wife’s faith resulted in the resurrection from the dead of one Nigerian pastor.

So the “problem” for “conservatives” and “libertarians” is not legal immigration at all, and not even illegal immigration.

It is the indifference and apathy of those who do not share their faith with others, and the failure to preach a Golden Rule social and political gospel with salvation.

By Golden Rule I don’t mean the false “charity” of those who vote to rob someone to “redistribute the wealth”. By that I mean teaching that whatever Caesar has belongs to God first, and when you vote to loot somebody else’s gain, you are voting for theft.

Christians can still witness to their neighbors, share the prophecies from the Bible that predict disaster for ungodly practices, but also the more recent specific ones that prophesy America’s collapse, and why.

Groups and Groupthink traps: Liberty is based on Individuals

Exodus International

it’s the plantation authoritarians that are forever dividing up people into all kinds of groups and making everything into groupthink, and dividing groups against groups. People have problems because they are members of victimized groups. Here a group, there a group, everywhere a group.

But there is only one group that gets immunity from groupthink victimhood, that’s the Caucasian, white, man. As long as it’s a European-descended white male. Except for Hispanic whites. But if you’re Hispanic and white you get reclassified as the oppressor white male European-American IF you are Republican. Or classified as a member of the “sellout” group.

One Black Tea Party founder said he was told by Dick Gregory that he did not exist. So there are some people who are members of a super-group of “null groups” that don’t exist.

Another null group that does not exist, according to the groupthink group that is known as “liberals” in America, is the group of ex-gays. Exodus International was founded by members of the null group “ex-gays”.

Another null group, according to a former college acquaintance of one daughter of mine, is the group of Republican Hispanics. A friend was shocked and got a look as if she had seen pigs fly, and did not believe it.

Another null group we may presume is of Latin American nations that actually remove an president by legitimate constitutional means. A premise to this is that another null group is made of leftist presidents of Latin American nations that actually become dictators and deserve a constitutional outing.

Another null group is Latin American leftist presidents that need a coup to protect democracy in their country, unless it is a coup sponsored by the high priests of the Leftist Authoritarian religion.

Another null group is illegitimate voters and frauds. Unless it’s a Republican who is a accused.

And they are doing their heavy best at trying to make liberty candidates a null group but they are having a tremendous problem with that one.

How can they make a “group” out of a “group” that’s made up of fundamentalist Baptist Bible-thumpers, gays, strippers, atheists, Democrats, Republicans, independents, college professors, painters, rock stars, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers, government workers, private sector workers, union members, abortion advocates and pro-lifers, gay marriage advocates and traditional marriage supporters, Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Jews, Sikhs, you name it, and add to that people from around the world already waking up to this liberty movement.

We are tired of the driving indoctrination of groupthink. Mind control is the goal of the collectivists, whose architects have no intention at all of getting caught themselves in the trap they weave for the rest of us.

Their motto with pushing so much groupthink is “Divide and conquer”, and “divide an rule”. What better than to divide up everybody else into groups and get them to go at each other.

CONCLUSION

Just to clarify, ladies and gentlemen, natural human rights do not belong to groups, they belong to individuals. Every attack on the natural rights of ONE individual to life, liberty and property, is an attack on ALL of us, not just some sub-“group” of all of us.

Plastic surgery tragedy proves caveat emptor is better than government regulators

Plastic Surgery Nightmare For a Texas Woman | Fox News Latino:

Here we go again. The statists will say things like this need more regulation. By which they mean more regulations written by government employees or more laws written by Congressional aides. (With apologies to the few who might write their own proposals).

The regulatory regime has lulled too many people to somnolence with the idea that the government is on top of everything and that it should prevent anything bad from happening to us.

That’s the solution, they think, to bad doctors, incompetent doctors doing bad things to their patients.

But then that just shifts the discussion to the one-size-fits-all solution, a government panel to set the rules by decree, and it does not fit all, not at all.

For example. Some people are more willing to take the risk. For new treatments that cost more because they have not had historical traction, why should a millionaire who is dying of cancer have to wait for a costly government process if he wants to take the risk and has the money to finance the first attempts at a possible cure for what ails him?

As it is now, a drug company is required to finish three years of experimentation on rats, and another three years of experimentation on humans, and another study demanded by someone on the last review panel.

Once upon a time I met a guy who had distribution rights in the United States for a new idea to reduce the facial wrinkles that come with age, and to firm up skin on younger folks. The obvious market would be women –and some men of course. It was just a type of bag with a substance similar to the packets used to keep things cold in refrigerators and in styrofoam, and I have no idea whether it works except that the idea was convincing and this guy seemed decent enough, and the company already had convincing traction in Columbia, South America.

It could be sold in the United States without the FDA approval, and with the claims for firming up skin, according to the friend, but it would be open for any kind of liability suit someone might bring. So he said anyway, but I know of companies that have been shut down for any kind of claim whatsoever that somebody at an FDA desk decides is “medical”, even true things. Like healthy amounts of fruit helps keep your immune system healthy. Can’t say that while you’re selling oranges, unless you finance a study.

Not making that up, no-sir-ee.

The FDA study that would have protected him from lawsuits cost about $3,000. Not much compared to what a lot of drug studies have cost the big companies. This wasn’t a drug and it was external, and its most important ingredient was sealed inside a strong flexible plastic, and its use was basically merely the cooling factor.

But the packaging material touches the skin, and there is that cooling factor, so the study was required. And… that without any promise that there would not be more requests following.

The friend was a retiree, and had a comfortable monthly income, and after the surprise he got had decided he did not want to bother with the investment, especially when the final decision lay not in the results but in the whim of a bureaucrat.

People who demand more government control over their lives and over the people they buy from and do business with, often don’t realize they are demanding to be told what to do with their own lives, more than they think. They trade off the abuse they get from private parties, private companies, so they think, to the trust they have in their government.

They forget that the members of government departments are made of the same kind of flesh as everybody else.

A guy or group in government, if you give them control over a big chunk of national commerce, economy, what is going to keep them more honest than their counterparts in a private enterprise that also have to answer to both their stockholders and to their customers, and even their employees?

So, it’s time for Golden Rule Government:

Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets. – Matthew 7:12
