Why are the poverty and racism pimps Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson not agitating to free this woman who only fired a warning shot at her abuser, who had even gone to prison for one of the five times that he beat her.
Yeah, you can call this racism, and I think yes, I can understand why you’d think that, but the prosecutor is the same one who took the Zimmerman case to court.
But it more looks like a gun control prosecution at the expense of a poor woman, be she black or white, without the resources to take on the entire state of Florida. Her lawyer said it the battered women “dont’ get the benefit of the doubt”, according to the Daily Beast article.
And now Andrea Corey is saying that social media will cause the end of the world, because that’s how a lot of us are finding out about this outrage against justice.
Outrage because the husband admitted in open court that he had beat all of his five “baby-mamas”. The story does not mention whether he was ever prosecuted for those previous beatings, but he did go to jail for abusing this one, Marissa Alexander.
So I support the call for Governor Rick Scott to issue a pardon for this woman.
Some are saying this shows “racism”, although these same people are not complaining about the numerous whites that have been beaten and even killed for their color. I have been warned by black friends against walking alone in some black neighborhoods because of my skin color.
Could we hear from the black pastors complaining about “racism” say something about this? How about the president? Does he think violence against lighter-skinned people and threats against people are okay because of the skin color of the victim?
There is only one race anyway, it’s the human race, and we are all individuals. We all should learn and help our fellows learn that.
I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. -Martin Luther King, Jr.
The lady’s lawyer used the Stand Your Ground law, but it didn’t help her. The principle is sound, though. If you’re at home and your husband has beat you before and he keeps coming at you, you should not have a duty to retreat, especially if it is your own home!
By the way, many law enforcement officials are saying that “Stand Your Ground” laws are benefiting minorities the most, in general, because minorities are more victimized. But that’s just statistics about groups. The right to defend one’s self is a natural right, we all get it as a birthright, and Rick Scott should pardon this woman.
In my opinion, almost everyone who thinks Zimmerman has been the victim of a politically-motivated prosecution, driven by racism pimps, will also agree that Melissa Alexander should get a pardon.
And then, can we return the nation’s conversation to the real problems in the nation causing our woes? The Federal Reserve’s inflationary monetary policies robbing the value of the few dollars held by the poor and middle class? The monstrous tax laws and taxation and regulatory regime that constitute a destruction of productive capacity in the economy and falls hardest on the small businesses of the nation –and hits most painfully, by the way, on minority businesses?
And the perpetual warfare machine the nation has built up that sends our sons and daughters to kill and die in foreign lands? How about the drone question and Big Brother spying on us, and, by the way, citizens getting the wrong end of unconstitutional and therefore illegal presidential kill orders?
How about the most racists and classist institution in the nation, fast-federalizing government school system, that ensure the ruling cliques that they get the dumbest graduates possible by keeping parents out of the decision and stopping independent schools?
How about that?
