Good point guys. What really matters in the topic of what is “fair” with regard to income, is, “income mobility”. In other words, what barriers are there to the poor accumulating more wealth?
Certainly we should not have government placing barriers to upward income mobility.

The web site http://www.policymic.com about “8 months ago” posted an article by Robert Taylor that predicted the liberty movement spearheaded by Ron Paul would outlast both the “Tea Party” movement and the “Occupy” movement.

While Occupy seems to have faded away back into the billionaire-funded activist foundations and foundation-funded advocacy actors, the Tea Party movement has seemed to move into a few organizations and personalities that are associated with both conservative and libertarian associations. In fact some commentators’ predictions that the Tea Party and the Ron Paul libertarian movements would eventually coalesce is now reflected in many developments and trends we see in current events.
After Ron Paul’s victorious filibuster in the Senate this month, Robert Taylor’s predictions are finding their fulfillment it seems. The two protest movements have faded in the attention span of the public and have lost their presence in the minds of the public. The “Tea Party” label at least seems to have had more traction, since obviously we have a Tea Party Caucus in the Senate (started by Rand Paul) and a Tea Party Caucus (started by Michelle Bachmann) in the House of Representatives, and there are organizations advocating positions and PACS for electing philosophical analogue.
Ron Paul’s stand against the White House running away from a clear answer on the rights of even Americans, his fighting for Americans and for the Fourth and Fifth and Sixth Amendments to the Constitution, not to mention “equal treatment under the law”.
For six months they have been trying to get the Obama to speak clearly on something for the benefit of 95 percent of Americans who agree with Rand Paul in this situation, asked specifically of Eric Holder that morning, and who kept asking obliquely. The White House had refused to answer it directly, except for at one time a statement from the Attorney General that seemed to imply that the President could order a kill with a drone on any American on American soil without warrant or detention or trial.
The next day, the Obama administration was forced to change its position and finally admit clearly that it did NOT have the authority to order kills under the specific circumstances clearly stated in Rand Paul’s questions.
It brought the issue of violations of the Constitution into the laser focus of Americans’ attention, in spite of the spin of coverage by the Old Guard Media.
A handful of Republican Senators rushed to join Rand Paul’s Stand. I happened to be able to tune it while Ted Cruz had the floor. Mike Lee also came early. But as time went on, support built in social media and on talk radio and on the Internet. Even the Minority Leader Mitch McConnell uttered some support, and the RNC Chairman jumped in (after 10 hours in) urging other senators to join Rand Paul.
All of that is huge, because they broke the bland and boring congressional news cycle. Standing up for disenchanted Americans in dramatic fashion was cutting through the self-censorship of the government-media complex like a hot knife through butter and got attention. Even some Democrats publicly supported Sen. Paul, and a few more quietly and privately.
But the Old Guard (“old fogeys” they call them in Missouri) Empire struck back the next day, too. Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham showed their colors by taking to the floor to rant against Rand Paul and his supporters, calling them “crazy birds”. My quiet response was “Look who’s talking”. The Wall Street Journal editors showed themselves as a supporter of the Establishment ruling cliques by criticizing Paul.
Mary O’Grady is a breath of fresh air often at the WSJ, having defended the persecuted small country of Honduras when they defended freedom in 2009 and changed Latin American history.
The Investors’ Business Journal is much more reliable in having a sane perspective on matters affecting business.
And that Bill of Rights over the long term is something that protects free market activity over the long term. Government intervention for “fairness” or to stop business “abuse” always is better for the biggest corporations, and cultivates “too big to fail” concerns. Although I don’t think there is such a ridiculous thing.

An end note:
Ann Romney is criticizing the media for not treating her husband fairly. I’ve got two reactions to that.
One is, so why the heck did Romney’s team let people moderate their debates that they knew would be unfair?
A second thought is, Where were you when Romney’s supporters were abusing Ron Paul supporters, cheating at votes, committing blatant fraud and (I think) illegally making up false numbers in the Maine caucus voting? And how about the abuse at the Republican Convention?
Maybe the real story is, if the media –and Romney’s political hacks– had treated Ron Paul fairly, it might just be Ron Paul in the White House.

Very interesting developments lately.
(1) Obama’s shine has worn off.
(2) He has been shown to be a liar, in effect, with his demagoguery about the Sequester.
(3) Rand Paul has single-handedly created a platform for other liberty-minded people to virtually force the Obama administration to back off from its claim of power to kill anybody it chooses to anywhere in the world whenever it deems it “appropriate”. “Appropriate” was Eric Holder’s own words to avoid saying “constitutional” in the hearing where Rand Paul had pushed this question.
Rand Paul is right to claim the word “victory” for this forced change in the Obama position.
(4) Dennis Rodman visited North Korea and came back a Manchurian Candidate without the candidacy and provided a few humorous moments with his comments.

Summarizing recent events:
Obama’s sequester demagoguery is exposed and getting blowback for punishing the public instead of cutting waste.
Sequester is also exposed as a miserably tiny INCREASE from the year before, so why is it called such a “cut”?
And now minimum wage and other hourly workers across the country are seeing their jobs shrink because of Obamacare, as a direct result, and it did not help them get health care insurance either. They didn’t realize the paperwork this was going to require of them either.
Lots of states are refusing to set up exchanges, a lot of them are passing laws against any state employee implementing anything related to the medical industry nationalization.
Obama is forced by Rand Paul’s stand against the White House’s unconstitutional abusive evasion about policy kill orders with the focus on the drones. Rushing to his side were other liberty-minded senators, and then Internet shout-outs of support from Republican colleagues, and then even Democrat Party politicians expressing support, and even the ACLU, FRC, Code Pink, and all kinds of people of all stripes adding to the din.
Rand Paul won back about 95% of his “bonafides” with libertarian voices.
Even John Cusak was wondering where all the “progressives” had gone off in hiding to…
The White House was backed into a corner at least on this constitutional issue.
