Behind AP story: Is flap a concerted PR blitz to save AP’s damaged reputation?

June 5, 2013

Hey, got another “rest of the story” kind of thing here.

A commenter self-identified as “raoulleraoulle” posted this on a story about the Department of Justice charging AP a million dollars for the information it requested with a FOIA, meaning what emails and records it took from AP:

Hmm this plus the phone tapping story are adding up to look like a concerted effort to make us regain trust in the Associated Press as being a defender of freedom and on the publics side.
Don’t believe it, this is propaganda at it’s most obvious.

Come on BLN you’re better than this.

Honduras’ Congress and the Supreme Court

December 15, 2012

Golly, the things they’re describing in Honduras about their Congress and President sound like The 2010 American Congress and the nationalization of the medical industry.

ABC is describing it as a big mess and they are even repeating the now discredited lie that Zelaya was ousted in his pajamas. In reality we now know he wore a suit as he left the presidential mansion, passing by statues of himself that he had used to decorate the place, because neighbors saw him in the suit. He changed into the pajamas in Costa Rica for a sympathy play.

It is ABC that has been flailing about in its own reporting. The things they criticize about Honduras are happening in their own base country of the United States and they could not be happier, it seems…

Well, looking at other news sources, it seems this story originated with the Associated Press, which served as the propaganda arm for the Zelaya-Chavez-Castro alliance effort to establish another permanent dictatorship in Latin America and call it “democracy”. They are back to bashing Honduras again.

They probably had to conduct ten interviews with citizens in the street before they found one that referred to the 2009 constitutional succession as a “coup”. It was Zelaya’s coup against his own government that was ousted along with him.

But the criticism is hypocritical, coming from ABC,  which joined all the rest of the world press in 2009 demanding that the master of presidency by decree and now ex-dictator Manuel Zelaya be restored to his throne to boss the country!

There is certainly more to the story than even what we’re seeing, and the guy that complains about the “Danza de Milliones” is protecting his own neck to by assuredly sitting on some truly damaging information about his peers –and they are doing the same thing no doubt the other way.

I know people who have served in that Congress, but the best ones only serve one term because you can only run around with wolves for so long before you start howling like one. Therein lies truly nasty stuff.

Thank God that the Honduran people were so outraged by the attempt to make the Chavez-Zelaya dictatorship permanent that they delivered some mighty blows back to the empire, the Congress had to channel the energy.

And hey folks, Michael Strong offered the best thing Honduras has had a chance at in centuries, and the Congress approved it, and the Supreme Court threw it out. Was it the same Supreme Court? If it was, then my doubt in this fight is toward whoever stopped it.

Because territorial integrity would have been preserved, there was no advocacy of presidential re-election, and the irrevocable guarantee of a republican form of government would also have been preserved intact. Those are the only three items that are irrevocable and immutable in the Constitution of Honduras.

Where were these international voices to defend the Supreme Court and the independence of the different branches of government when the Honduran Supreme Court did, with the Congress, against a dictator, exactly that in 2009? Where was this concern when Zelaya was issuing illegal and unconstitutional orders in his plan to consolidate permanent power?

The AP lies again about Colombian rebel group and cease-fire

November 20, 2012

Why does Fox News use such a “news” service as the Associated Press, when in their “news stories” they so blatantly favor tyranny, like they did in this article about the negotiations in Colombia between the government and the brutally murderous Stalinist FARC?

http://www.foxnews.com/world/2012/11/19/colombian-rebel-group-farc-announces-cease-fire/?test=latestnews

HAVANA – The top negotiator for Colombia’s main rebel group announced a unilateral cease-fire on Monday, before heading into much-anticipated peace talks with his government counterparts at a convention center in the Cuban capital of Havana.

Ivan Marquez said the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia would stop all military operations and acts of sabotage against government and private property starting at midnight Monday and running through Jan. 20.

This Associated Press story claims that this “puts pressure on the government of Columbian President Enrique Santos, who has refused to consider a cease-fire during the talks.” Very funny. The last time they had negotiations, the FARC continued full-blast war on the whole country while protected in their “safe zone” they demanded for negotiations. (See below for a funny factoid about that and the “paramilitaries”).

I was a missionary in Colombia for about two years during the heydey of the Medellin Cartel and these guerrillas. Some of their recruits at first sincerely want to help change the world and help the poor like I did when I was a Communist, but being in these movements it converts into a fight to get power and control over the body politic –over the people– supposedly for a good cause.

Álvaro Uribe, Presidente de Colombia.

At least the New York Times let their readers consider the duplicity of the FARC the last time this was tried, and the obvious conclusion is that of course the government will not engage in a cease-fire:

Mr. Londoño criticized the government for conducting peace talks under the threat of continued military action.

In the last round of talks, begun in the late 1990s, the government gave the FARC a large safe zone in which to operate, but the guerrilla group used it to train troops, traffic in drugs and gather strength, stretching out the fruitless negotiations for years.

Mr. Santos said that this peace process would continue for months and that if they were not yielding concrete results, he would end them.

The Associated Press story also claims –in blatant falsehood that the FARC is all about “land reform”, when ALL Colombians KNOW that the FARC always wanted to overthrow the government and establish a Communist dictatorship in Columbia, and they even made their cozy relationship with the Cuban government very public.

Look at these lies, keeping in mind that the FARC has been simply waging a classic guerrilla war like Mao’s in China after WW2 and Fidel Castro’s in Cuba in the 1950s, and land reform is only a straw man issue:

The talks, the result of seven months of secret negotiations in Havana, follow several failed efforts over the decades to end the conflict. [lie–>] Land reform, the heart of the conflict [<-lie], is at the top of the agenda.

The government is hoping peace leads to greater foreign investment in mining industries. It has promised to return millions of acres of stolen land to displaced peasants [<–lies], one of the rebels’ main demands.

The rebels are the ones who have stolen property, lives, towns, people, sons and daughters, and slaughtered innocent victims all over the country, and sure, they cover themselves with a few favors for their victims in the propaganda front, but if a village rebelled against their commands, they slaughtered the entire village.

AP cannot be trusted. They LIED and LIED and LIED, blatant LIES, about HONDURAS too.

That’s very funny. In 1998 Andres Pastrana was elected when he made his major platform issue a promise to negotiate peace with the FARC, the biggest guerrilla group in the country. In a show of good faith, he declared a “safe zone” inside Colombian territory the size of Switzerland, an area in which the FARC became the de facto government.

Talks began in 1999 and continued until 2002. During that time the FARC CONTINUED ALL BELLIGERENT OPERATIONS, using the “safe zone” as a protected area to bring even more hostages than ever, victims of one of their favored military strategies, kidnapping of civilians. By the time the year 2002 came around, it became obvious to anybody watching that the FARC only wanted to gain time with the advantage of a save zone to furhter their military conquest of the country.

In the next election, Alvaro Uribe was elected on a platform that promised to dedicate all resources to stopping the kidnappings, killings, attacks, and thievery perpetrated by this insurgency. During the presidential campaign, his son was murdered guerrilla-style, and he announced that it only made him much more determined to eliminate the “insurgency”.

I was there in Columbia during my years as a missionary. Columbia is a very beautiful country. Its people want peace.

Alvaro Uribe is to this day a national hero in Columbia for cutting this band of Communist thugs down to size. He was so successful, and so many more areas in Columbia were freed from the constant threat from the raids and kidnappings, that they changed their constitution to give him a second term, and came close to doing it again for a third term.

The ONLY reason that FARC wants peace talks now is that Uribe succeeded in making them just another drug trafficking gang, and a weak one at that, in spite of the generous help from devious neighbor Hugo Chavez and his band of cronies.

The neighboring nations of Venezuela and Ecuador and their leftist-fascist dictatorial presidents have been exposed as helping them and have lost any moral high ground they may have claimed, in the process.

For example, there is the Venezuela television journalist who broadcast video tape from inside a Venezuelan military base that showed FARC leadership laughing it up and enjoying a visit with Venezuelan Army generals in a base near the border.

Columbia raided a guerrilla camp barely inside Ecuador territory and got proof that the Ecuador government and the Venezuelan government were giving direct financing to them, and getting donations from them in turn for presidential campaigns, and that Venezuela was providing a safe route for export of the cocaine to the United States and other world markets.

I know that the world will move further toward overt fascism as freedom gets more restricted and their wholesale central control over our economic life increases, but even the dictatorship, they tyranny of their one-world boss, the Beast, the one some of them call their “Supreme Lord”, even he will have trouble both on his way to dominating world politics, and when he declares himself in the Middle East. Even though he will be used by God to punish America for its sins of hubris and permitted its leaders to wreak havoc on other nations, when he declares war on God’s people and begins to ravage the poor of the Earth –as socialist and fascist governments always eventually do– he will get the battle of his life, the battle of the world, and the war that will really end all wars finally for a thousand years.

Meantime, like it says in Daniel, “He shall come to his end, and none shall help him”.

Found: Graphs showing economy’s “performance” 2009-2012

Obama Bashes Bush & Says Election Will Be “Fun Debate” …(Between Socialism and Freedom) | The Gateway Pundit:
http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/04/obama-election-will-be-fun-debate-between-socialism-and-freedom/

I was quite impressed at the collection of graphs on the web page. They quote him saying “It’s always good to have the truth on your side”.

That much is true, but it’s out of context, because the truth does not help his message at all. “The truth is lies” one might say. Oh well…

Look at this quip they included from the AP:

Obama revisited many of the same arguments he made earlier in the week during a speech to newspaper executives, in which he framed the election as a choice between his work to use government to help people prosper and Republicans who would let average Americans struggle while pushing policies that help the wealthy few.

The charts they generously shared with us show how much his policies are helping crush the middle class.

A Christian writer once said, “God must really love the poor, he made so many of them!”

But it seems socialists and leftists don’t think God made enough poor people, because they are making so many more of them.

But since are mostly in the employ of a selected group of super-rich, aided by idealists who are deceived by the academic demagoguery like I once was, they can’t really touch those super-rich. So they push their potential rivals back down, using glass ceilings crimping small business made of regulations, a legal counterfeiting operation that robs the poor and middle class every time they “print money”.

Since when should we have to tell the rulers a “good reason” for using our constitutional rights?!

Sports and politics: Pick your team; Ron Paul fans want a fair game

February 10, 2012

Coach in my son’s soccer team led them to Number 2 in the state  out of dozens of teams. One parent afterward started denouncing the coach in front of everybody and I was able to stop it, maybe too politely. That was quite an accomplishment for the coach, still studying engineering. He didn’t even favor his own son,  and one parent from the other team acknowledged afterward that ours was the better team even though they let the other team get two goals in the first couple of minutes.
I’m from St Louis, a baseball town.

I fondly remember Marvin  (God bless him) probably in heaven now. When I was a young boy he used to come to take me to baseball games and Gospel singing concerts and bowling. Grown up and gone “intellectual” and then missionary, though, I don’t even know the rules for football (I do like the Tebow Christian witness).

Elections in the U.S. have been contorted into a spectator sport where you pick your favorite team and hope you outnumber the other team’s fans. The way they set it up is each team gives you a list of permitted reasons to cheer for them instead of the other guy.

But the rules in the political cheering game have been rigged. The powers that be don’t know what to do with the one guy who is calling for a return to when the rules were fair to the fans, the maverick that they keep trying to pretend isn’t there. But there is an increasing number that once they realize what’s up with that, the epiphany sticks.

The American `allergy’ to global warming? – Oh yeah? My answer to the AP

September 25, 2011

Another article setting up another hit against dictatorship-resistance using a psy-war tactic: call them mental.

The American `allergy’ to global warming: Why? – Washington Times:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/sep/24/the-american-allergy-to-global-warming-why/

Maybe we’re allergic to bogus science. Maybe we are the skeptics that Michael Shermer claims to be.

If the author of this bogus analysis of why the denial were a true decades-long researcher into the global warming debate, he would know that the denials come NOT from oil companies but that it is CLIMATE SCIENTISTS leading the charge to yell that this Emperor Has No Clothes! Like the 100 career scientists that signed the protest letter to Obama.

So either he’s an INCOMPETENT reporter, or he’s just outright LYING. Which one is it, AP?

Not the first time AP published a falsehood. There’s one still floating around the Internet where they claimed that the biggest civil-society independent organization in Honduras supported the dictator and wannabe caudillo-for-life Zelaya, whereas in reality they, along with a certain 80 percent of Hondurans, backed his ouster and the restoration of their constitutional republic. Flawed as it is, corrupt as it is as Hondurans know it is, they knew that another Chavez would turn it again into a banana republic for the new club of tyrants.

I told them thru the first reporter’s email I could get and they blamed it on a translation glitch, but I notice their byline is still out there at their clients news sites with their attribution!
