Whites get abuse too; plus the two NY cops they called “Batman and Robin”

White poor are arrested, convicted, imprisoned, and shot and killed by cops at about the same rates as black poor.

Back in the 1960s or 1970s, during the time of the race riots across the country, there were two white uniformed cops that policed a black neighborhood. They had higher arrest rates than anybody else. They arrested dirty cops who had abused people in the neighborhood too. The bosses (John Lindsay was mayor at the time) wanted to transfer them to somewhere else and the orders came down.

The BLACK neighborhood exploded. The BLACK families marched on the police station, DEMANDING that they keep those two white cop partners in their neighborhood.

L. H. Whittemore wrote their story in the book “Super-Cops: the Story of the Two Cops Called Batman and Robin”: http://www.amazon.com/The-Super-Cops-Called-Batman/dp/B000GSLVF4
