Shadows of Soviets: “Conspiracy theory syndrome”?

New cure for conspiracy theorists and whistleblowers: forced mental health “checkups”.

It’s a good “cure” for troubled soldiers, especially those disillusioned with the never-ending wars, sometimes. Good for disarming returning veterans, good for soldiers doped up with drugs after injuries:

The news splashed the line from the Army that they were giving Bergdahl a “mental health checkup”. Good play, since they didn’t know what kind of ideas this very famous soldier would have to offer the press:

It’s a trick the Inner Party learned from the Soviets:

Before you think you’re safe, check to see if you’re on the DHS “enemies of the state” list leaked out by a whistleblower from the “Fusion Center” in Missouri. Note the use of the word “ranted” in this low-monotone rant against dissidents:

Heller also was “accused” of planning to buy a fourth firearm. How many do you have? More to the point, how many does your local police have? How many do all the armies in all the various federal agencies have?

The ACLU doesn’t care about Second Amendment rights, but their list of individuals that are on the DHS “watch list” shows that governments cannot ever be trusted:

Even Ted Kennedy had to demand a conversation with the head of DHS to get off the airline watch list. How’s it feel, Senator? Hung on your own Command Government petard?

Not even getting elected president of Bolivia got Evo Morales off the watch list.

I worked with a guy once whose name is on that list.
