Gibson competitor owned by Obama supporter uses the same wood as Gibson–HOW MUCH CORRUPTION IS TOO MUCH?!

After Gibson Raid, Other Guitar Makers At Risk Of Breaking Law | Fox News:

Here you can find a list of the political connections in this story:

Politically-Motivated Raids Punish Gibson Guitar | Bob McCarty Writes:
http://bobmccarty.com/2011/09/08/politically-motivated-raids-punish-gibson-guitar/c

From McCarty’s blog:

1. Gibson employs non-union workers while the company’s main competitor, CF Martin Company, employs union workers;

2. Gibson’s CEO donates primarily to Republican political candidates while Chris Martin IV, the CEO at CF Martin Company, donates primarily to Democratic candidates; and

3. Several guitars in the C.F. Martin Company’s catalog (above) contain the same East Indian Rosewood as the guitars made by Gibson, according to Gibson officials.

Musicians, support guys like Berkowitz, a registered Democrat himself, and buy Gibson guitars!

And despite the 30,000 and growing number of pages of federal government regulations that micro-manage many of the tiniest details of American business, they couldn’t even find an excuse in there to raid this company, so they just said their apparent compliance with the law and the regulations was a violation.

India says the wood Berkowitz uses to fashion his popular guitars is legal to export from their country. The US Fish and Wildlife Service raided Gibson, saying it was illegal.

As poorly done as the fox news article is, the major contention is correct, but I would say its even worse. If the DOJ brings a case and wins it on the classification of the wood parts in question, the rest of the industry won’t be at risk of breaking the law, they will literally be breaking the law if they continue to import those same parts. It will have serious negative effect on the industry.

[If the DOJ brings the case and wins it, it will indeed be a major blow against the industry, but it will be the fault of Control Freak Government, perpetrated by a clique more interested in power for their brand of socialism than the good of anybody. It will show they are more interested in shutting down the private sector than they are in “fairness”. The facts are out, if these Control Freak idiots push this it WILL NOT, WILL NOT BE GIBSON’S FAULT. —-It will be ours for putting up with such abuses of power.]

The contention that the raid was motivated by Henry J’s. political contributions is comical at best. [WHAT IS COMICAL IS THIS ATTEMPT TO TWIST THE BLAME] If you want to find someone to blame for the raid, the responsibility lies squarely on Gibson for their completely incompetent paperwork. Per the affidavit after the initial suspicious shipments came to their attention with unmatched hs codes and undeclared consignees , they went back and looked at the customs records and found 11 cases in the last 2 years where Gibson imported Indian rosewood and actually used an illegal hs code classification (4407) for rosewood parts they were importing. Everyone else in the industry including Gibson has been matching up their import codes with the Indian export codes (hs code 9209.92) and nobody ever questioned it. Then a couple of years ago Gibson starts messing up. How does this happen? You wouldn’t think that they would just forget one day how to do it. My guess is that because they have such high employee turnover there, (consistently rated as one of the worst places to work year in and year out), they’ve lost their people experienced with the import process and they have inexperienced people in those roles now that don’t know what their doing.

[A ZILLION CODES AND REGULATIONS AND RULES WRITTEN BY SIX-FIGURE DESK JOCKEYS IN D.C. THAT DON’T CARE ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR RULES, AND RAID A PLACE INSTEAD OF USE COMMON SENSE, AND SO WHAT? IS THAT DEPARTMENT INNOCENT FOR MAKING IT SO EASY TO GET A CODE OFF A DIGIT]

[YES, YOUR HONOR, THEY ARE GUILTY OF GETTING A DIGIT WRONG. YES, YOUR HONOR, WE ARE AWARE THAT THIS WILL KILL ONE OF THE FEW AMERICAN INDUSTRIES LEFT.
—BUT WE HAVE TO SEND A MESSAGE THAT THEY HAVE TO GET THE CODES RIGHT!
–WHAT’S THAT YOUR HONOR? HAVE WE EVER GOTTEN A CODE WRONG? WHY YES, WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH SHUTTING DOWN GIBSON? WE ARE THE BOSS!
–WHAT’S THAT? WHAT DOES KILLING THE INDUSTRY HAS TO DO WITH IT?]

Anyway, now thanks to Gibson, you’ve got the fed’s sticking their nose into things and deciding they know better how to classify these parts then the Indian authorities and domestic instrument building industry that have been working together harmoniously for years. If the DOJ brings the case and wins it, everyone will be screwed, including the big companies like Martin, Taylor, and Fender, but especially the small independent builders.

[WHO TOLD THE FEDS TO STICK THEIR NOSE INTO ANYTHING? IT’S CERTAINLY NOT CONSTITUTIONAL, AND THE LEGISLATORS THAT ABDICATED LEGISLATIVE POWER TO PETTY POWER-MAD BUREAUCRATS SHARE THE BLAME]

BTW, Gibson’s product line is diverse, but I think most knowledgeable people would agree Fender is Gibson’s biggest competitor overall. Martin builds acoustic instruments, and Gibson’s acoustics make up a fairly small portion of their overall sales. The vast majority of their revenue comes from electric instruments.

Oh blah blah. They did the raid because of PAPERWORK??!* ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Blame it on the victim! For an authoritarian regime based on victimization mentality, this is really good.

Such is the intellectual bankruptcy of control freak apologists, who go along with the police state when it’s their own caudillo great divine leader doing it.

The comical is an attempt to blame this obvious POLITICAL HIT on the victim!

Latin Americans would not be so gullible.

Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you.

FOOL ME THOUSANDS OF TIMES, WHAT IS WRONG WITH US?!

    [–EDITOR’S COMMENTS IN BRACKETS–]

Really? Then publish the numbers along with sources for Henry’s political donations over the last couple of years. As far as political donations go the guy’s hardly a blip who’s money has gone to both reps and dems.

[–LOOKS LIKE YOU’VE STUMBLED UPON THE DOUBLE PURPOSE. WHILE SENDING A MESSAGE TO INTIMIDATE ANY ECONOMIC BASE FOR POLITICAL OPPOSITION, A LITTLE AT A TIME –WHICH DOES NOT DEPEND ON HOW MUCH– IT ALSO KILLS ANOTHER AMERICAN INDUSTRY IN THE NAME OF EPA’S MISSION–]

But I guess in you’re mind they’ve got to be some dangerous folks to have planted that agent a dozen years ago so he’d be in place for just this opportunity. Yeah right.

[—THAT’S A BABBLE TO TRY TO DEFLECT THE OBVIOUS—]

The implication that some in the industry are somehow going to benefit from this is total BS. If the fed carries through on this everyone is going to suffer.

[— NO KIDDING. SO WE SHOULD STOP THE CONTROL FREAK GOVERNMENT MADNESS. IT’S MADNESS THAT WE GIVE THESE MINI-TYRANTS SO MUCH POWER. SOMEBODY SHOULD BRING CRIMINAL CHARGES AGAINST THEM FOR VIOLATING THEIR OWN LEGISLATIVE MANDATES—]

Or then again, for you its probably best to just go on being a good little wing bot. Repeating what you’re fed like good little bots do. Left wing bots and right wing bots think they’re a lot different, but two things they have in common are they’re intellectually lazy and they lack personal integrity.

[—WHAT’S CRAZY IS WHEN WE DON’T WANT TO ADMIT THE PROBLEM OF GOVERNMENT ABUSE–]
