So besides the blatant abuse of the paperwork process to disobey the Supreme Court United Citizens decision by disregarding the First Amendment for political opposition to the “leader” in the White House, we have this:

The second part of the scandal is the auditing of political activists who have opposed the administration. The Journal’s Kim Strassel reported an Idaho businessman named Frank VanderSloot, who’d donated more than a million dollars to groups supporting Mitt Romney. He found himself last June, for the first time in 30 years, the target of IRS auditors. His wife and his business were also soon audited. Hal Scherz, a Georgia physician, also came to the government’s attention. He told ABC News: “It is odd that nothing changed on my tax return and I was never audited until I publicly criticized ObamaCare.”

Franklin Graham, son of Billy, told Politico he believes his father was targeted. A conservative Catholic academic who has written for these pages faced questions about her meager freelance writing income. Many of these stories will come out, but not as many as there are. People are not only afraid of being audited, they’re afraid of saying they were audited.

All of these IRS actions took place in the years leading up to the 2012 election. They constitute the use of governmental power to intrude on the privacy and shackle the political freedom of American citizens. The purpose, obviously, was to overwhelm and intimidate—to kill the opposition, question by question and audit by audit.

It is not even remotely possible that all this was an accident, a mistake. Again, only conservative groups were targeted, not liberal. It is not even remotely possible that only one IRS office was involved.

Lois Lerner, who oversees tax-exempt groups for the IRS, was the person who finally acknowledged, under pressure of a looming investigative report, some of what the IRS was doing. She told reporters the actions were the work of “frontline people” in Cincinnati. But other offices were involved, including Washington. It is not even remotely possible the actions were the work of just a few agents. This was more systemic. It was an operation. The word was out: Get the Democratic Party’s foes. It is not remotely possible nobody in the IRS knew what was going on until very recently. The Washington Post reported efforts to target the conservative groups reached the highest levels of the agency by May 2012—far earlier than the agency had acknowledged. Reuters reported high-level IRS officials, including its chief counsel, knew in August 2011 about the targeting.

Happy New Year? (Thomas Sewell) – “Prophet of the Year”

January 1, 2013

Thomas Sewell’s article, pretty good:
http://www.wnd.com/2012/12/happy-new-year/

…<snipped>…

With that in mind, my choice for the prediction of the year award goes to Bret Stephens of the Wall Street Journal for his column of Jan. 24, 2012, titled: “The GOP Deserves to Lose.”

Despite reciting a litany of reasons why President Obama deserved to be booted out of the White House, Stephens said, “Let’s just say right now what voters will be saying in November, once Barack Obama has been re-elected: Republicans deserve to lose.”

To me, the Republican establishment is the eighth wonder of the world. How they can keep repeating the same mistakes for decades on end is beyond my ability to explain.

Bret Stephens said, back at the beginning of 2012, that Mitt Romney was one of the “hollow men,” and that voters “usually prefer the man who stands for something.”

Yet this is not just about Mitt Romney.

Sewell goes on to explain things in a way that’s easy to understand, but one thing I don’t know if he understands is that it’s not a matter of Republicans pulling punches and mouthing empty platitudes. The problem with the Republican establishment is that it is part of the same Establishment as Democrats and they are LYING because they do NOT want to get rid of big government, they do NOT want to stop entitlements, and certainly don’t want to get rid of all that lucrative military spending.

Republicans shoot themselves in the foot to make sure they don’t upset all that crony capitalism they love.

Look at this:

That was stupid advice. In public opinion, you have to have a better PR strategy than plead the fifth by silence. When they use real bullets to shoot at you, use real bullets to shoot back, and if the bullets are just lying accusations, you shoot them back.

To that I would add you shoot back with extra power added on. What I mean by that is, use every opportunity they open up for you, to drive your big Mack truck through.

If Warren Buffet demands they raise his taxes, don’t just tell him to “donate” for an example, ask him if he really wants his neighbors to put the gun of the law to his head to take his property. Ask him if he means we should rob from his peers that disagree. Make big hay of the fact he is admitting that HE is being unfair by making all that much more money than the rest of us.

Ask Warren Buffet if he is going to order collective bargaining rights for the elected representatives of all the workers in ALL the companies he owns. Cut out the federal middleman.

Does he really want a “Robin Hood” to run the country?

Buffet, Put up or shut up. Invest in something that results in permanent job growth instead of voting to take money from Mom and Pop investors. And instead of HIDING the WHY your secretary pays a higher rate than you, EDUCATE the people who don’t know the subject. I once thought you were an honest investor. Now I’m quite sure you’re not so honest.

But mostly it’s education. If you think your neighbor should not be able to muzzle you or rob you, or tell you what to do, and make you pay by force for his ideas, then don’t vote for a government or a politician that does it.

Romney and Obama: Is there ANY difference?

November 4, 2012

In the article linked below, Chuck Baldwin included an interesting (very long) list of positions that both Romney and Obama hold in common:

http://chuckbaldwinlive.com/home/archives/5229

But in another interesting twist, Chuck exposes the fact that a great many “conservative” organizations have received big money from “a slew of PACS and foundations that funneled thousands of dollars” that Romney created, and apparently they put on their own muzzles and made him out to be a “conservative”, as if he had repented of his strong pro-abortion policies and push for ever more and bigger government as governor in Massachusetts, increasing the control of government officials over our lives.

Here is just one paragraph with much of list but not all, with a comment below about one or two of them, kind of disclaimers…

As I have noted in previous columns, the differences between Mitt Romney and Barack Obama are miniscule on virtually every salient issue. They both supported TARP; they both supported Obama’s economic stimulus package; they both supported so-called assault weapons bans and other gun control measures; Obama has an “F” rating from Gun Owners of America, while Romney has a “D-” rating from GOA; neither man supports a balanced budget; neither man opposes foreign aid; they both supported the bailout of the auto industry; they both have a track record of being big spenders; they both fully support the Federal Reserve; they both oppose a full audit of the Fed; they are both supporters of universal health care; both men are showered with campaign contributions from Wall Street; neither of them wants to eliminate the IRS or the direct income tax; both men are on record as saying the TSA is doing a “great job”; they both supported the NDAA, including the indefinite detention of American citizens without due process of law; they both supported the renewal of the Patriot Act; they both believe that the President has “executive power” to assassinate and kill; both support the “free trade” agenda of the global elite; they are both soft on illegal immigration; they both support NAFTA and CAFTA; they both have a history of appointing liberal judges; they both believe the President has the authority to take the nation to war without the approval of Congress; and neither of them has any qualms about running up more public debt to the already gargantuan debt of 16 trillion dollars.

I’m going to parse out that list for effect in bullet form to make them more visible:

They both supported TARP;

they both supported Obama’s economic stimulus package;

they both supported so-called assault weapons bans and other gun control measures;

Obama has an “F” rating from Gun Owners of America, while Romney has a “D-” rating from GOA;

neither man supports a balanced budget;

neither man opposes foreign aid;

they both supported the bailout of the auto industry;

they both have a track record of being big spenders;

they both fully support the Federal Reserve;

they both oppose a full audit of the Fed;

they are both supporters of universal health care;

both men are showered with campaign contributions from Wall Street;

neither of them wants to eliminate the IRS or the direct income tax;

both men are on record as saying the TSA is doing a “great job”;

they both supported the NDAA, including the indefinite detention of American citizens without due process of law;

they both supported the renewal of the Patriot Act;

they both believe that the President has “executive power” to assassinate and kill;

both support the “free trade” agenda of the global elite;

they are both soft on illegal immigration;

they both support NAFTA and CAFTA;

they both have a history of appointing liberal judges;

they both believe the President has the authority to take the nation to war without the approval of Congress;

and neither of them has any qualms about running up more public debt to the already gargantuan debt of 16 trillion dollars.

[Editor's note: I do support free trade, but not the "free trade agenda" of "the global elite", because their "free trade agenda" has nothing to do with "free trade", but it does relate to very un-free control.]

There are more things they hold in common, and Chuck Baldwin does mention some of them, like the fact that they both support the current legal enforcement of the both ridiculous and dangerous (for babies) scientific view that a baby in the womb is part of a woman’s own body. Obama has broken many promises and told many lies, but then Romney says he’s pro-life, giving talking heads a chance to say they’re glad he changed his position, but he says he’ll do nothing about Roe v Wade, and he doesn’t talk about this, and he does not speak repentant about his economy-damaging effects of his policies as governor in Massachusetts.

Just to say that a forced tax on every Massachusetts resident that on the national scale Americans marched against by the millions and even all the left-leaning polls said were against by 70 percent, meaning probably 85 percent, is a “good solution” for anybody is to be clueless and shows he is NEITHER “conservative” and certainly not libertarian.

“Let’s not also forget that Romney’s advisors actually met with Obama’s advisors on a dozen occasions to assist them with designing ObamaCare! It’s no surprise that Romney is refusing to call ObamaCare a tax, even though it’s the largest middle class tax hike in American history. The reason for this is because, while governor, his RomneyCare plan–the model for ObamaCare–was attacked as a tax and he argued it wasn’t.

Romney projects an air of knowing much more about his topics than Obama, but he is still a top-down guy that wants to impose his own solutions on everybody that doesn’t want them. And so Romney will know what he is saying when he reads a teleprompter.

I pretty much agree with Mr. Baldwin that Romney will win this election, but unfortunately his administration will look like the Bush years, and meantime the powers that be in the USA continue to push us fast toward a dollar crash.

Obamney –A two faced Janus–Salt Lake Tribune is from another non-Mormon galaxy

October 21, 2012
Go Away Federal Reserve System!

Go Away Federal Reserve System! (Photo credit: r0b0r0b)

The endorsement of Obama over Romney in the Salt Lake Tribune is a bunch of baloney.

Not that Romney will be much better than Obama. He is an unknown in some ways.

But saying Romney embraced the radical right wing of his party?!?! What?!?!? On what Mormon planet in a galaxy far, far, away did that unearthly non-factoid not happen??!

Do they know nothing about the Republican Party, or are they just inventing some excuse, since Obama is so desperate for some numbers? This is just days after a Las Vegas oddsmaker said it would be Reagan-Carter all over again.

Has the national goose-stepping government-media complex gotten so desperate to try to swing America back into this stupid left-right theme that they have to join a Blatant Liars Club in this trial run to see how much they can enforce Groupthink on Americans?

We shall see.

To borrow from Shakespeare, thou doth protest too much.

Not that Romney’s administration will be much different, if at all, than Clinton’s or Bush’s or Obama’s.

They all grew the government, including Romney in Massachusetts.

They all circle the wagons to protect the Federal Reserve, this private currency monopoly and price-setting bureau that has caused the whiplash the national economy has suffered, and that Americans have suffered, ever since before the Federal Reserve was formally established in legislation, contrary to the Constitution.

Since they have run the literal and figurative printing presses in this jackboot-enforced monopoly, this banking cartel and all the Congresses that let it run rampant all these years, has robbed Americans of 95% of the value of the dollar. By providing a “pain-free” method (for politicians) to spend money created by indebtedness (to this private cartel of Wall Street bankers), they have robbed the poor and middle class.

Yeah, so this leaves some of the poor behind, so they “fix” it by robbing value from everybody to buy off some of them and provide a “safety net” for their own victims!

Thanks a lot! That’s like a slaveowner that lets the slave eat a meal. Whoopedo! Thanks a lot.

In fact, call it what it is: involuntary servitude.

They can’t even hide behind this “democracy” facade, as if a majority vote to rob a minority percentage of people is even a “fair tax”!

How about “taxation without representation”?

Remember that? Robbing the 1% (that’s out of their own mouths), to give to the 43%, just because you can sometimes get 51% of the people to vote for the guy that says “Trust me”, now tell us: WHAT IS SO “FAIR” ABOUT THAT?

The only “fair share” is a straight percentage. What about the hardworking legal immigrant that works TWO jobs to pay college for his kids because he doesn’t want his kid to work half his life paying off a debt –a college loan debt to pay for college prices that are pushed sky-high by the floods of dollars coming out of the federal money-making machines?

That guy that works double shifts at two different jobs and another part-time, how is it “fair” to tax him at a higher rate for the second job as the first job?

Okay, now the “Robin Hood” robbers (yep, Obama used the word, but he’s not talking about any evil Sherriff of Nottingham) are saying at this point that they don’t mean that poor family man working two jobs.

So here you go: What if he gets smart himself, takes the two years and half the second job’s pay to open a restaurant, including the 18 permits and licenses he needs from the local yokels? (It’s 18 in New York and they have a whole department set up to help you negotiate the impossible labyrinth of bureaucracy).

Say he gets successful, how is it “fair” to take the money he uses to pay the poor waiters he uses?

There’s nothing fair about anybody telling you what you can or cannot do, or what you have to do, under the gun (enforcement threat), or what kind of contract you make with others.

“Thou shalt not steal”.

What’s “fair” about theft? Whether you’re stealing from the rich or the poor? And the irony is, they love that word “irony”, that the people that they tell us to trust are actually robbing the poor to give to the rich, starting with the rich bankers bought off by carrot and stick by the PRIVATE banking cartel at the Federal Reserve.

Not that I’m going to vote for Romney, especially after their attempt to prove the Dems right about wanting to suppress votes with their treatment of Ron Paul delegates and Ron-Paul majority delegations and Ron Paul himself!

But then we all know the Democratic Party bosses would have treated him the same way. Look how they made all the pro-life Democrats fall on their own swords for their pet medical industry nationalization project!

Just the facts here, Ma’m. Just the facts

WORDS MATTER: An Un-narrated Obama Documentary/Review (The Original) – YouTube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8R5GvwUFU8&feature=player_embedded

Obama said before he started campaigning to a small group that he wouldn’t “immediately” be able to change the medical industry to a “single payer” system (meaning government-run). The qualifier and significant word is “immediately”.

Then he said it was a lie that the medical industry control legislation (misnamed “Affordable”) was a Trojan horse to get the country to a national health care system.

He said no family with an income less than $250,000 a year would see ANY taxes go up. And now the Supreme Court has ruled that his nationalized-control medical industry control regime rides on the BIGGEST TAX INCREASE IN U.S. HISTORY!

He promised the medicine central planning bill negotiations would be broadcast on CSPAN. They refused CSPAN’s requests for access to them, held behind closed doors and with only Dem Party leaders present with the president.

He said he was against presidential kill orders, and now we hear leaks (from somebody) bragging about them.

He said if he didn’t cure unemployment and have the country back on the road to prosperity in three years, he should only be a one-term president.

“If you have insurance that you like, you will be able to keep that insurance. If you have a doctor you like, you can keep your doctor.” “…This law will just make that more affordable”.

He promised to guarantee Medicare, then took a HALF TRILLION dollars out of the Medicare budget to move it to the new centrally planned system.

The Unaffordable Obamacare regime has 21 NEW TAXES!

The IRS is in charge of its enforcement.

During his debates with Hillary Clinton a narrator posed the question of why raise the capital gains tax, which he had said he would “consider”, since when Clinton reduced them and Bush reduced them the revenues collected from those taxes went UP. His response was that he was considering raising them not for those reasons, but “for the purposes of fairness”.

In other words, he wants to raise capital gains taxes NOT to raise revenues, but for FAIRNESS.

Kill the golden goose that lays the golden eggs, NOT to get the gold but because it’s FAIR???!!!

What is fair about GM getting a $500 BILLION bailout? AIG? What’s fair about CLAIMING he wants corporations to pay more in taxes and complaining about corporations gaming the system to pay less taxes or no taxes, and appointing GE’s CEO as a “jobs czar”, after GE paid ZERO corporate taxes.

He promised to cut the deficit, called Bush “unpatriotic” for adding $4 trillion to the national debt. In eight years. In four years, under Obama’s patronage, debt has increased by $FIVE trillion.

Now Romney is a big-government big-spending politician who himself has flip-flopped his positions depending the office he’s campaigning for and which state he’s running in or speaking in.

Romney supported the TARP bailouts, which Americans HATED and still hate. (So did Obama). Romney supported Obama’s early “stimulus” spending, which only stimulated more federal debt. Romneycare had so many similarities to Obamacare that Obama was able to claim that he based his government health care takeover on Romney’s model.

Obama said he supported the cap and trade legislation while saying also that it would cause drastic increases in the price to the consumer of anything produced or delivered that required any use of coal or oil or gas.

It just keeps coming!
He promised to close Guantanamo, it’s still there.
He promised to bring the troops home from Afghanistan and Iraq within 18 months. Three years later he announced all combat roles for U.S. troops in Iraq were done and the withdrawal was complete now, but what do you call 18,000 American troops still there, and an embassy compound of 44,000 square meters that employes 15,000 people? And is there any noise about Afghanistan?
So he still has troops in both countries, in full combat operations in one of them, and not only that, he waged a war against Libya and is an ally in another with the Yemen government, and has “all options” on the table for Syria and Iran! Following the same lead-up pattern as Bush did with the other two countries.
And remember the “new relationship” he said he wanted with Latin America?
What did he do when Honduras stopped a caudillo president-for-life dictatorship from taking over in Honduras? He tried to bully them into putting the piti-Chavez (“mini-Chavez”) back in power to continue his takeover, and had Hillary enlist Oscar Arias to help them do it. Yes, “respected” Oscar Arias, who violated his own constitution to get another term in office….

Of course we all knew that, although some of us didn’t say it. That would be the ones who look at it from the point of view of who benefits, who gets freebies, and who gets the privileges and the waivers…

But most people know in their gut that this thing is outrageously expensive…

Robamanation: Feels like the day America died, Hurricane Isaac the Harbinger

September 2, 2012

Adding corrupt cheating insult to the injurious cheating process of voter suppression, Romney’s gang did not even let Ron Paul‘s hardworking grassroots delegates get their day and Ron Paul’s day, or let the media know the truth about how much they had accomplish. The rulers in smoke-filled rooms showed their canines, you know, the teeth that make them look like vampires, and obviously ruled that the obvious “No!” vote was a “Yes” vote and they were bold-faced about it.

The teleprompter told the story: There was going to be no respect for their own rules, no respect to the party’s now “lower class”.

Now it’s out. They are treating party delegates as peons, as showpieces, to go through the motions and pretend that they are of the Republic, while tearing it down.

The Republican Party is now dead, dead, Dead!

The liberty movement is now going to metastasize and it will appear everywhere. It has already infiltrated into many local and state party offices.

Maine Governor Paul LePage kept his word and boycotted the Republican Party National Convention because the national RNC refused to seat the legitimate delegates from the state because they were majority Ron Paul supporters.

If you cheat, and you’re caught, in all legitimate competitions, and most especially in a Republic, you lost. And in that sense, Mitt Romney LOST and Ron Paul WON.

If Obama is reelected, it WON’T be because Ron Paul spoiled it, or Gary Johnson, or anybody else from any “third” party.

It will be because ROMNEY’s gang of thieves spoiled it.

And if all hell breaks loose during the next four years and the dollar crashes and we get the apparently pre-planned wars against Syria and Iran, it will be because the RNC showed itself no better than the cheaters of the other party

But we knew that right?

When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. – Proverbs 29:2

Rand, Ron, Lew, and Small Businesses are the Economic Base to Oppose Corporatocracy

June 16, 2012
Image of Lew Rockwell

Image of Lew Rockwell (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Lew Rockwell has made some good points about Rand Paul‘s endorsement of Romney. Rand is NOT Ron, not at all. We all know that we generally differ from our parents, and if you have grown children during these times, you know that our children differ in many viewpoints from us.

The message of liberty is catching on everywhere, especially among young people and those who bother to examine the analyses of the brilliant economists of the Austrian school.

But even Ron Paul said he didn’t want a bandwagon effect, he wanted people to join the cause that really understood the philosophy, the principles. Otherwise you have a crowd that will lay palm leaves at your feet one day, and a few weeks later will cry “Crucify him!”

As best he could, Ron has prepared as many people as he could for the coming dollar crash. When we warn the unwary and gullible that government freebie programs are headed for disaster, the Aristocrats accuse us of wanting to destroy these programs. They are trying to poison the soil for what they know is the coming catastrophe. Some of them do know they are not only destroying those freebie programs, they know they are destroying the free market and prosperity. The economic base of any opposition is the target.

The economic base of the opposition to Aristocrat Control Freaks is not big corporations, but the middle class and small businesses, and many medium-size businesses.

When the hurt comes with the dollar crash, the Aristocrats will of course come riding hard with a rescue plan, complete with a loyal opposition that pretends to claim that it will be a disaster for the rich, just like they did with the Federal Reserve Act, when they had the richest bankers go around protesting it in the darkest terms, just months after they had promoted another proposal that was virtually identical.

But now instead of The Crash, upper-case capitalized, sending hordes of college-bred lockstep-fed youth rushing to man the barricades for a totalitarian “people’s revolution” [barf], many of them will instead be demanding freedom. People from literally ALL backgrounds have discovered the liberating effect of Golden Rule Government.

The “solution” offered to us may be anything. Personally they may be expecting a civil war. They accuse dissidents of it enough, the “fringe”.

But education marches on. Despite their generations of dumbing us down en masse with free government indoctrination centers for the children (us), we are not totally stupid. I think it was Rockwell who quoted von Mises as saying that totalitarian regimes eventually lose. Human nature eats them from the inside like a canker, brings corruption, and at the very worst, loosens its grip when the most brutal “great divine leader” dies.

Ron Paul has done a good job, and he will keep doing it.

But the giant has been awakened. The “We the People” was hypnotized into a stupor and has been pricked awake.

The seeds of the world-wide upsets against the World Beast Government have been sewn. The Beast will rule a regime that claims global power, and over time will quash opposition from saints and sinners, but in the end he is defeated by divine intervention and in human battle.

“He shall come to his end, and none shall help him”

The Liberty Movement is Growing Up

IF Romney does eventually actually clinch the nomination, there are a number of them that would vote for Romney just because they think they would have to if they want Obama‘s reign to end. Some of them still don’t fully understand all the issues but like Andrew Napolitano said, Ron Paul ‘is one of US“, meaning he’s not Establishment like any of the other candidates of either party.

Which he has NOT done yet, and by rule 38 might not even when he gets the count. Ron Paul will at least speak at the convention, and his delegates will be heard. With all the misreporting about Doug Wead‘s statement about putting their money where it counts most, that also seems to have jolted RP supporters awake –those who didn’t realize it yet– that the whole thing is now independent of the RP campaign personnel, and it no longer depends on Ron Paul.

There are liberty candidates all over the nation, gaining nominations and elections to local and state offices, and taking over the Republican Party.

Personally, I think America is going to suffer very hard for all its sins, beginning with “the house of God” where the slip-slide started, most especially when the dollar crash actually hits. When it does there will be pain, and RP has made clear that his goal if he doesn’t actually become president (and maybe if he does) is (1) try to get legislation passed to ameliorate the disaster by legalizing freedom of choice of currency, and (2) make sure as many people as possible understand WHY and HOW it happened.

Number (2) is crucial, because when people lose one of their two cars or when food really is scarce, or when the government cannot guarantee freebies anymore, there will be a lot of anger. But if enough people understand the principle of liberty and what I call “Golden Rule Government”, we’ll get through it a lot easier because they will not be fooled by the demagoguery of “social justice” or induced to demand theft by “entitlements”.

Pro-Big-Government Media Lying About Delegate Numbers

May 20, 2012

You also keep missing the point.

CNN was caught lying with its pants down about the delegate numbers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=akUZvbHR5BA

It looks like the official Government-Corporate-Media complex just doesn’t know what to do with this story. No wonder the plutocrats have had to step in and save some of the Conformist Media in what appear to be acts of charity without good prospects for payback, one millionaire buying Time Magazine for one dollar, and Buffet’s companies snatching up 66 newspapers for fire sale prices. The Omaha tycoon a few years ago said newspapers were going to disappear soon. What’s up with that?

Maybe he figures he’ll get favorable consideration for his companies’ tax debt, and for permits and keep the IRS off my back please…..

It’s not just CNN. It looks like a blacklist on the story after story about what is going on in Republican Party conventions across the country at the local, county, and state levels.

“…Paul backers won 12 of 13 Republican National Convention delegate slots filled in balloting Saturday, May 19, at Rivers Edge Civic Center.

They might have taken all 13 seats if a Paul state delegate had not graciously conceded the final slot to Rep. Michele Bachmann….” Sounds like it means they could have kept her out of the delegate slate but conceded it to her.

So now 32 of Minnesota‘s 40 national delegates in August are committed to Paul. http://www.twincities.com/ci_20663278/ron-paul-backers-complete-weekend-sweep-minnesota

RP has clinched at least the five states needed to place his name in the running at first ballot (the way I understand it at least), and his delegates have already won delegate majorities in eleven states – eleven.

The Doublespeak Media is LYING when they say the Ron Paul campaign has given up, conceded, or quit campaigning. The official campaign has NOT given up, they have said the strategy is shifting to accumulating delegates where it counts and skipping primary beauty contests where the more massive banking money favors Romney. That money is also supporting Obama, but later for that.

It is evident that the campaign is managing expectations among Ron Paul supporters, while at the same time possibly making a show of being gracious to Romney.

But the truth is, the Ron Paul campaign has no more idea than Romney about how close the delegate count may favor Ron Paul when it comes to counting numbers at the national convention. They have no idea what the effect of all this is.

Plus:  neither the Romney campaign nor the Ron Paul campaign, neither Gingrich nor Santorum nor Bachmann, none of them knows for sure what the delegates for the “dropouts” will do, despite the “endorsements”.

The bottom line is, “it’s not over till the fat lady sings”, much more so than before.

I’m old enough to remember the floor fights at some of the party conventions in the 1950s and 1960s, and they were covered live by the three major national networks open gavel to final adjournment, and I remember being intrigued as a young boy and teenager watching them, including speeches on the floor for one candidate or another, then the announcements of the votes, the conclusion that no one had won, and then finally the cheering when one of them got the “magic number”.

Nothing wrong with that. But apparently somebody didn’t like it and they started making the whole thing a horse race in the time of primaries, and making sure the conventions would simply be the infomercial of the anointing of the selected one. Like in the words of the now disillusioned Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama “was selected before he was elected”.
